About
Mr. Simmons practice areas in the fields of estate planning, trusts, and probate law. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (2000) and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (1981).
His work includes preparation of wills, trust agreements, and other estate planning documents for clients with taxable and non-taxable estates, as well as complex federal gift and estate tax returns. He also develops lifetime gifting strategies and implements sophisticated estate planning techniques in a variety of areas, including charitable planning, business succession planning, and life insurance trust planning.
Mr. Simmons has created various corporate and charitable entities, including corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, public charities and private foundations.
While at Loyola Law School, Mr. Simmons received the American Jurisprudence Award in the course on Trusts and the Loyola Certificate of Merit in the course on Successions. While attending the University of San Diego Law School, he took a summer program in Paris, France, where he completed courses on International Taxation and International Antitrust.
